Came across a blue steel Colt XSE new for just under a grand. If I understand it right, these will no longer be made, just the stainless versions?
Fair pice and should I jump on it for possible collector value?

I found one today (blue) new at my local gun shop for $799.00. I just bought my stainless one a few days ago for $899.00. One thing I can say is that these pistols are not easy to find, at least not in my area.

I love the look of the blued version. The only thing that held me back from getting it was the fear of holster wear. I will be using this pistol a lot as it is my CCW pistol.

Thanks, Rocket 6R

I don't know how much collector value it would have, at least in near future unless Colt only made like 100 of them. It might keep up with inflation though. On top of that, despite our best efforts, I would predict the laws concerning firearms will get more restrictive, which may make selling it harder in the future, or you may have taxes, etc. to pay when you sell it.

However, are you famous? If so document that you bought it, save receipts, have your picture taken with it etc. Just imagine if Mrs. Clinton bought it...... Hey, I needed a good laugh.

As of right now Colt is still showing the blue XSE GM on their commercial web site. I have heard nothing about the blue XSE being discontinued. But they always have been hard to find. In PA the XSE's are general $850-$950.

I got hold of the 06 Colt catalog and they are only showing stainless, for all guns except the series 70 version.
I just picked up a completely custom 1991 and love it. I thought I might grab this blue xse for future custom work.
