I have several Colt Enhanced pistols and the slide to frame fit is nice and tight on all of them. I was beginning to think that was something Colt did on all the Enhanced guns, but maybe not, maybe I just got lucky (not something that usually happens). Has anyone else noticed the Enhanced Series 80 guns being tighter than what we have been accustomed to seeing? Does anyone know if this was something Colt ententionally did?

I have limited experiance, but have not noticed this to be true... It may have more to do with the quality that related to the year of manufacture. I have a 1992 Enhanced that is much better quality of fit and finish (tighter too) then one produced a few years later.

x-ring,
That is exactly like one of mine, Series 80 Enhanced, SS, .45 and mine is the tightest Colt I own with the possible exception of my Series 70 Gold Cup. Well it seems there is no pattern to the fit of the frames to the slides. Apparently when they are assembleing Colts if it fits they use it, no conscious effort to match them up. I have always believed that the fit at the barrel and bushing and the fit of the link pin were the most important factors in accuracy although I also believe slide/frame fit, both vertical and horizontal play a role. I am not anal about it, I have several very good working Colts that are quite loose, but I do like a gun that does not rattle when you shake it.
