I bought a Combat Elite off of Auction Arms recently that had been customized. I had linked the auction pictures over here earlier. I felt, even in looking at the pictures from the auction that the pistol was special. It apparently is more special than I had first thought!

I've circulated the pictures and several knowledgeable people are convinced based on it's features that the gun was built by Robbie Barkman of Robar. The pistol is the mirror image of his "Combat Master". The sights and slide top matting, front slide serrations are supposedly "trademark" work of Barkmans.

I have called and they are researching it for me. Unfortunately, their pistols are logged by owner name, since I don't know who owned the gun before me I may never know for certain but they said they can pretty well tell by looking if it was one of theirs.

Nice find amigo!
If that's the case, the rear sights are probably his and not Yost, not a bad thing.

Yea, those are his sights, no serrations on them. They think the gun was made while he was still at Gunsite, before Ted got there. The thumb safety they can't even get anymore because the mold got lost about ten years ago!

I plan to send it back and get the frontstrap stippled and also the mainspring housing as that is now part of the package. Plan to get it tightened up a little too as frame to slide is a little loose, shoots good but is looser than I like. Anyway, a pretty cool find.

Very cool find sir!

I really like your idea of sending the gun back to Robbie, good plan.

Here are some from the Auction website. Not great but if you go to Robar's site and compare it to his current Combat Master, it's pretty clearly the same gun with evolutionary changes consistent with the age of my gun.
