I can have a NIB PC1911 on its way home with me tomorrow and am about ready to start the car right now.
Is there a good reason I should consider a different pistol?

I debated between Kimber and S&W also. After reading the forums the choice is easy. The S&W guns seem to shoot good right out of the box but with the Kimbers it seems to be a crap shoot whether you get one that will feed or extract reliably. Many have to be sent in, sometimes more than once to be adjusted. I know not all Kimbers are bad out of the box but the Kimber forum spends a lot of time talking about FTF and FTE issues. I bought a SW1911Sc and I'm very pleased with it. I've used seven different kinds of ammo so far with zero malfunctions of any kind. S&W also comes with a lifetime warranty, the Kimber I believe is a year.

I couldn't decide, either, so I bought both!

Seriously, Kimber Customer Service is excellent, just as S&W's is. I have NO problem with my Kimber OR my S&W SW1911.

I didn't know it until I just signed on BUT I did the same as you: I got the S&W PC1911, plus A Grand Raptor II PLUS a Kimber CDP Pro! And the dealer threw in 10 boxes of factory hardball. I took in the right trading iron, that's for sure. Just walked in the door and signed on to the forum, so I haven't had time even to unpack my new acquisitions.
I will manage to photograph the three beauties in a day or so.
I think the PC1911 will come out on top, but the Grand Raptor and CDP Pro are mighty nice as well. I just hope there are none of the problems I read about on the Kimber forum.

Those are some great guns! I love my Kimber Custom CDP II AND my S&W SW1911Sc! And the Grand Raptor is a *really* nice looking pistol! You did well, Montana Billy!

Looking forward to seeing the pix!
