Just got a new Springfield TRP. Ditched the DA's and made the jump. So far so good. I do have a question for the forum though.
I had a bunch of Blazer Aluminum shells and had to burn them off. I realize these are cheapies, but I chose to run two hundred rounds of these through my new TRP. I was using some Wilson clips and noticed that every time I was on my last round, the gun jammed. Now, I realize this is a new gun with cheapie rounds, but is this anything to be concerned about?
I will add that I have not had any issues when running brass, especially with the clips that came with the gun.
Thanks

Assuming the gun has its stock recoil spring, I would say the mag spring is a bit weak. When the the mag is on its last round the spring is fully expanded making the spring at its weakest. If it doesn't have enough poop to keep that last round up against the lips snug, you'll usually have a jam.
Might try those same rounds with diff. mags..........

Those cheap aluminum shells work fine with the mags that came with the gun. These are seven round mags. The mags that jammed every time were a buddies wilson mags. He had two of them. Each of them jammed every time on the last round with the aluminum shells. Again, the aluminum shells worked fine with the seven round mags that came with my TRP. Funny thing, the brass rounds worked in all of the mags. I realize that I just answered my own question here,,, "don't use the aluminum rounds." It's just that I like the cost of the Blazer aluminum rounds compared to brass. And, I find it a little funny that the TRP would be so finicky with wilson mags and aluminum rounds.
Thanks

I made the switch from a double/single Sig P220ST. The TRP is like a fine precision instrument. A couple of things that have brought up minor concern are:
1. It takes me much longer to clean. Coming from a Sig, this is to be expected. I am a busy guy and own my own business, so it is hard to find the patience and time to do the cleaning job the right way...but i do anyway.
2. I had 3 jams today. Still using aluminum rounds though and still breaking the gun in, so this is apparently something I should expect.
All in all, I am a completely better shooter on this gun.
I will also add that I shoot with some friends that have Custom Ed Browns and Wilsons. These are expensive guns and I would guess that my gun performs just as well. I have put many rounds through their weapons and have no real differences to report. Not to mention, their guns jam from time to time, and in some cases more than my new TRP, when they are new.
I am going to stick it out. I love the gun and would recommend it.
Mine is the stainless. It's very nice looking.

First of all, welcome to the board.
Second, I know that people love Wilson magazines, but I didn't have good luck with those. Admitedly, mine were quite early samples, Bill Wilson had send them to me years ago, but they just didn't work well with my pistol. I ended up giving them to a friend, who never had any problems with them.
As Wichaka said, maybe the springs are a bit weak, while the recoil spring is still new (and strong), so the combination can be problematic. I wouldn't say that it's the ammo problem, most probably the mags is the issue.
My 2 Eurocents only.
