Just got this beauty yesterday. It's in much better condition than the pics I saw indicated. I would say no more 400 rounds have been down the pipe.
It's a 1952 Colt .38 Super. 100% original and about as pristine as you could hope for. Traded my 1991 NRM plus 100 clams for it. Nice addtion to the collection don't you think? ;)
First pic is with a flash, second is without. Couldn't decide which I liked better so here's both.

Yepper.....that's the one. Model? Isn't it a 1911? It dosen't say 1911 on it though. The rollmark on the side says, COLT Super .38 Automatic.

That is awesome!
I think I am on the hunt for an old classic Colt now and a .38 Super would be great. $600-$700 price tag sounds like a killer deal to me on that gun.
Who did you buy it from? Does he have others?
Thanks,
Cameron

Thanks Cameron,
I got it from a gentleman in the Atlanta area. I'll ask him if he has any more "classics" on hand and let you know.

If you re-read my first post, you'll unerstand what I mean by model.
After Colt originally introduced the .38 Super, they made 3 changes to it, thus you have 4 models. Yours should most likely be #4, but would like to know.........

Ahhh......gotcha' that time.
It must be a 3rd model because when I was cleaning it last night, I didn't notice any difference in the diameter of the bushing. When cleaning the bushing, I put a cleaning patch with CLP on it on the tip of my finger and then slide the bushing on my finger like a ring and rotate it. I fit just like any other bushing. I'm sure I would have noticed a smaller size.

Thanks Stans,
No box. Just the Pistol and one mag. No complaints from me though! ;)
I'm still trying to get a good pic of it. I think I'm having a hard time due to the incredible reflective qualities of the finish.
Yeah, I don't remember ever seeing a factory Colt with the polish job on the blue that this one has. It is supposed to be unaltered.
This pic you can really see the reflective quality. See can see the ceiling and stuff on the counter reflecting off the finish.

Beautiful, absolutely beautiful!
Couldn't agree more with you on Colt's old finish, you can see the 2X4s and the knots in the plywood porch ceiling in the pic I have of my 1950.
