Ok here's the thing, I have finally made up my mind to buy a TLE II as my next 1911. The only problem is I don't know if I want to get the light rail or not. I was just planning on getting the Surefire that mounts on the frame without the rail, but my buddy just got a M6 and I really liked it. Now here's my delema, I like to have the grip mounted switch which the M6 doesn't have. Now I have seen a grip switch for the M3, is there one for the M6 and if so has anyone used one and what do you think? So can somebody help me decide?

Yes there is a grip switch for the M6, I saw on on the web sight.
My friend has a M6 on his AR and likes it. I have a M3 that I am putting on my Springfield loaded. I am having a light rail put on it.
both the M3 and M6 are basically the same light, just one has a laser on it.
I would go with the the TLE that has the light rail. Even if you decide not to mount a light at this time, you can later. There is a lot of good lights coming out that you can mount on your 1911.
I like the Surefire but you can not use it on a standard light rail.
You can pick up a M3 for under 100 if you look on the inter-net and in the Shotgun News.
I have one on my duty weapon a HK 45 ACP USP. I like it, when you have to clear a dark room or just want to see what your are looking at it is nice. It dose not add mutch weight to the pistol.
It is allot easier to shoot with a weapon mounted light then holding one in your hand. The only draw back is you have to have a holster to fit your pistol with the light on. If you are going to use it for your home this does not matter much.

If you don't like the idea of a holster designed for a light, there are companies that make separate holsters for the M3 (M6?) lights that can sit alongside your spare mag pouch. You can then draw the weapon and light, affix the light, and good to go! Would be beneficial to practice A LOT with an unloaded weapon to make the movements second nature, kinda like doing a tactical reload...

I got to use one of the light switches for the M6 on a Glock, so now I just need to decide if I want a standard 1911 with a Surefire, or a 1911 with a light rail and an M6. And I don't have a problem with the holster thing, since this will probalby just be a home gun, since I'm not allowed to carry a 1911 where I work right now, or any gun mounted light for that matter.

I keep a G34 w/ M3 on the nightstand, and a Surefire G2 next to it. If I need to light something up, I don't want to be pointing a weapon at everthing, unless I'm SURE there is a threat out there. Goes back to that "don't point a weapon at something you are not willing to destroy..." I can always drop the Surefire and go to a two-handed grip if I need to.
Works well for me.
