Colt special combat

I recently purchased a Special Combat, carry model.......no magwell, fixed rear...... and was wondering if anyone out there had some additional info on this model [ 01970-CY ]

I have never seen a Special Combat without a magwell or adjustable sights. Mine has both.

That would be an older version of the special combat...mfg. 1992-2000.. at that time one had a choice of "carry model" or "competition model". Last MSR was 1365.00

Paul is correct. In my opinion, it's definitely a better carry choice than the version with the adj. sights, this is stating the obvious, of course. Still, it's a great gun from Colt's custom shop. Good luck with it and maybe post some pics? :D

I've posted a photo link. I think its a 1996 manufacture as the only information I can find online points to '96, and the test target is dated the same. I was able to purchase this gem from a good friend who is a local pawn shop owner, and Colt collector. He reports that it was purchased unfired [excepting factory test] from the original owner. I've been told that a relatively small number of this model were produced before it was discontinued, and I'm still looking for a total # of guns produced with model # 01970-CY
