Well after 4 hours I finally did what I always wanted to do. I built up a Mil-Spec 1911 to be exactly what I wanted. Tonight I fitted a magwell, beaver tail safety, new trigger, hammer, and sear. It all took about 4 hours using mostly hand tools. Here are the Specs
Springfield WWII Mil-Spec
Greider Trigger
Ed Brown grip screws
Ed Brown Barstock Hammer
Nowlin Ultra Match Sear
Ed Brown Hammer Strut
Smith and Alexander Mainspring Housing with Magwell
Smith and Alexander Grip Safety
Ed Brown Main Spring
Ed Brown Firing pin and stop
I plan on having the ejection port lowered and dovetails cut for Novak sights. I also need to blend the magwell into the frame. After that is all done I will refinish the gun with Satin Black GunKote.
