(Deep breath) 1 All Blue Colt Series 80 MK IV LW Enhanced Commander?

I had one of these I stumbled onto in college that was a display for a little gun store in Birmingham, AL. Had a small scratch and they discounted the gun and I bought it. Best 1911 I ever owned. Easy to carry, 100% reliable, and would out shoot any match 1911 I have owned since. Now, I have been looking for this exact gun for a couple years and have been unsuccessful. I sold it when things got tight after school and have been kicking myself :butthead: ever since. I actually tracked down the guy I sold it to who had given it to his son, who had sold it to one of his buddies, who had traded it for a shotgun from someone he couldn't name or remember. So, I am now looking for another one just for old times sake. I really hope I didn't get rid of something that i will never be able to replace. The gun was a flat top slide and hogue grips if it helps anyone that looks at one. I would really like to find one of these, so if anyone has any info about the location of one for sale, please post it or email me at will@froggtoggs.com. I would really appreciate it.

There are usually some for sale at gunbrokers.com.
Here is one right now. Seems to me that I remember my FFL could get one for $650 + (shipping, search, fee). So, $700 not bad.

Thank you. Not exactly like the on eI had, but very close. I appreciate the help. That is the closest one I have seen. It is already to $700, but the reserve is still not met. I'll keep that site on my favorites and check it frequently.

Also check Guns America. It's not an auction, it's just a listing service. Go to

www.gunsamerica.com

Scroll down slightly and you'll see an array of case heads. Bottom center is "Search." In search you can select "Colt (1911 & Var.)" as your search criterion, set any dollar limitations you may have, and see what's out there. Put "Commander" in the search terms window or you get about 17.3 zillion hits.

Also, get Mark Roberts' e-mail address from the Colt forum on the index page and drop him a message. Colt is assessing whether or not to bring back a Series 70 Combat Commander, and knowing there is an interest might help him nudge the company in the right direction.
