OK, all you 1911 aficionados, here is a question for you.

What is this hammer? Has any one ever seen that before?

I do not chew on my nails, it just happened that I clipped them this morning. Obviously, I am not the type of guys who do manicure! :p

And no, it is NOT airsoft!

I'm not terribly familiar with the Browning Hi-Power, but could it be the hammer from one? Or possibly from some double action 1911 conversion.

Austin Behlert came up with some hammers that somewhat resemble that..........where did you find it? Whats it out of?

It doesn't look at all like the profile of the locking lugs on the Hi-Power hammers shown in Brownells catalog.

Well, I think I should have asked this question, for out prize give-away. No one has seen that before? Not even you Hawkmoon?

Me? The prototypical armchair commando? Heck no, I've never seen anything like that.

Does it fit my Jeep Comanche? If not I ain't interested ...

Wait just a sec ...

Now why would the boss pick on ME, since he knows 1911Tuner works on more 1911s in any given day than I have seen in my entire lifetime. This had to be a trick question. Why me?

Well, the boss knows that I happen to own one of the first para 12.45LDA pistols. And they use a different fire control system to accomplish their "double action only" mode of operation. So it occurs to me that El Comandante might erroneously believe that I have some inkling as to what the durned thing looks like inside.

Hint: I don't. But let me make a wild guess and suggest that this may be a hammer from an early Para LDA, back before they bobbed all the hammers.

Close, but no cookie.

Could it be the hammer from a Colt Double Eagle?

If the potential prize money would be sweet enough, perhaps I could be induced to part with some pertinent information :)

That's cheating, and I can't allow it. This guy has inside information!

Well guys, I was as surprised to see this hammer as you are. This, in reality, is a 1911 hammer. Believe it or not, this is a single-action 1911 hammer. This is the original Para Ordnance, single action hammer.

And yes, it works fine in a 1911, with all the parts being standard, it just needs the basic work of a hammer job I think.

Darn, I should have used that in the quiz for the prize give-away and keep the rain suit for myself. But then again, it doesn't rain much here. :p

Glad you didn't do that John.....I don't need the hammer, but I DO NEED that sweet rain suit!.......Fore!!!!!

George, I told you I can cook the results for you to win, only if you promise me that you will not wear it, while playing golf! :p
