Wrong forum. You're looking for "Foreign Stamped Sheetmetal ****."

Whatever. I still love my P225. And my P226 Navy.

Sorry, my comments were uncalled for. SIG makes an excellent pistol.

As a die-hard 1911 guy I will say that Sig Sauer makes an excellent working pistol in the P226/9mm.
I have yet to wield another pistol with such accuracy and reliability out of the box.
My only gripe is the aluminum frame which shortens its life-span in the name of weight reduction. The only pistol I would prefer to carry for work en-lieu of the P226/9mm is a tuned (Carbon Steel) Government Style 1911 in .45ACP.
But isn't that what any 1911 guy would say.

SIGs may be well made, reliable, and accurate, but I can't stand the trigger. Every large framed SIG that I have fired has had horrible creep in the SA trigger. When I mentionedv this to the local SIG authority, he replied "That's a SIG trigger". Apparently this creep that I find so offensive is prevalent in these guns. Sorry, but S&W (AMERICAN MADE) has a better SA and DA trigger and these pistols are quite reliable. I own nine S&Ws and no SIGs. These purchases were made after quite a bit of testing and comparisons; S&W came out on top.

Sorry? Creep in Sig Sauers triggers? IF memory serves me right, the P-226 which was my first pistol, years ago, had the loveliest trigger I've ever encounter on a double action pistol. And before I made up my mind, I had tried almost all of them (well, all we can find here).
No creep in either double action or single action, actually the single action pull was the most 1911-like trigger pull I've every encounter.
Sorry, I have to disagree on that.

All I can do is call them as I see them. All of the half dozen or so Sigs I have fired (.40s and .45s) had the same creepy trigger. When I brought this to the attention of a friend of mine who is a SIG afficiando, he agreed with me. If I could find one with a decent SA trigger, I might even buy it, as long as the slide isn't a sheet metal stamping.

I've owned alot of Sig's, my first P255 is on the way. I also have a P226 Sport Stock that has to have the best double action trigger I've ever shot.

As an owner of numrous colt's and 1 sig (P220), I wouldn't hesitate to carry the sig, it would only take all of my 1911's being unusable. Sig is a good weapon, the only problem imho, is the trigger. The words trigger and reset should never be used in the same sentance when conversing about Sig's

I really like my 1911's but I have to admit to owning several Sig's.....a 232 stainless......239 with Novak sights in 9mm...226 navy and a 220 Langdon. (also a 226 in 40, but I think it needs to go somewhere else.)

I too am very partial to my 1911s, but I have owned several Sigs and still own a P229 .40, a P232 .380, and a P226 .40/.357sig. I really do like them, well made, and easy to field strip. Must be something good about them, afterall they have been picking up large government contracts here in the U.S.

Ok, everyone loves to poo-poo the Sig's alloy frame, and to those people I ask...have YOU ever worn out a SIG pistol's frame? (dead silence)
The same people that down the SIG's frame downed the Glock and other polymer framed pistols, but I'll be damned if I can find anyone that has "shot one out" and I have asked and asked. The silence is deafening.
That said, my P-220 was reliable from day-one with every 45acp round I threw in it. I cannot say that for my old Colt Govt. model of my newer Springfield Armory 1911. It also does not need new extractors, guide rods or a different hammer or trigger to make it fly right either.
So...lets hear from those that have worn out a Sig 220's frame...
...hmmm?

I will attempt to wear out several guns in what is left of my life. I should only be so lucky as to succeed. (Sig, Colt, whatever)

Joni, Is there any gun you don't own? How long you been shooting and/or collecting? :)
She is kind of short in Howitzers and Miniguns. Oh yes, a WWII German 88 canon is positioned inside her fence, by the yard door, but that's not part of her collection really, it's a mock-up made of clay. She just couldn't find one in the market and had an artist make her a dummy.

I knew there was something special about this little lady with all this firepower. :)
