Has anyone had any experiances with the Defender in .40? Good or Bad.
Thanks

the one i got had ether last round stove pipe or last round on the ground -- the way they were fixed was with magazines with the spacer in the front rather than the rear -- i have 3 of the mags that fixed the problem.
the 1 orig mag had a dimple -- and still failed around 50% of the time.
my opinion -- is that the flat nose of the 40sw -- along with the shorter length cartridge -- made the lip surface between the mags and the bullet casing insufficient for reliability -- the 9mm has a pointed -- non flat nose -- and seems to work fine -- so when colt had mags made -- or did it them selves -- with the spacer in the front -- rather the rear of the mag -- it allowed more mag lip surface to remain in contact with the casing -- and the gun -- the one i have became reliable.
i sent email to mec-gar about trying to buy that kind of mag design -- and they said they knew colt made such changes -- but that they did not do it for colt.
in my opinion -- all short length cartridge in longer mags -- like 9mm, 40sw, 357sig,
-- if being fitted to a 45acp size mag -- would function better with the spacer in the front rather than the rear.
even if the gun "should" work if built correctly with the spacer in the rear -- i have not heard a logical argument why it would not work "better" with the spacer in the front.
