I'd like to install a extended slid stop in my kimber .45
"They" say the slide stop is a drop in part but I'm concerned about the pin to
barrel link fit.
who makes the best slide stop and what about installation ?

Wilson Combat makes a drop in that I have found is a true drop in.

Do be aware that I have heard a number of stories of the extended stops causing unplanned slidelock. Be real sure to keep clear of the extended lever.

If I am allowed, why do you want an extended slide stop?

Extended Slide Stops work well in competition, but I would recommend against it for personal carry...has the possibility of getting hung up or snagged. If you're going to use one for carry, I would recommend WC's tactical version...JMHO.

I definitely am not one of the top shooters in competition, and my principle says that I use competition to keep my self-defense skills honed, so I have never seen the need for an extended slide stop. I always hit the slide stop with the thumb of my left hand, so the normal one works just fine for me.

I always hit the slide stop with the thumb of my left hand I seriously contemplated an extended stop until I learned that grip position. I have the stubbiest thumbs in the world, so I can't reach the stop with my right thumb without dropping the gun in my lap.

i agree with regard wilson combat products....i have installed several of ther products on my 1911s and the quality is apparent. every aspect from finish to size and tolerance is top notch.
i like the look of the traditional slide lock over the extended version.....kind of my way of showing respect to both the gun's desighner and those who have used it in all of the wars to end all wars.
