I went to a gun show in early January and saw a couple of HPs there and was reminded that I've always been drawn to them. Especially since I had it's little cousin, the BDA-380. About a week later I came across a nice used 1976 model at a local gun store. Took it to the range, and I was hooked.
Went to the range again last week in an attempt to fall back in love with my Beretta 9000s .40, and well, that didn't work.
Back to the gun show this past weekend and traded both my Beretta 9000 and my BDA-380 for a 1989 Mk. III Standard. Even got some cash back! All is well with the world now. ;)

Congrats on the purchases. I'm in the same boat, bought a new Browning MKIII 2 weeks ago and ordered an FN HP .40 S&W yesterday from CDNN.

You won't be insulted if I say I love the top one?

I never cared much for 9mm and had fired several different guns in that caliber. One day a friend of mine in Utah let me shoot his HP and the rest was history. We went to work the next day and went through every HP in the store until we found 'the one' we considered best of the bunch. It's the most fun gun to shoot in 9mm I've fired. My S&W 952 is more accurate, but then again it should be all things considered. My HP now wears nice grip panels and a C&S trigger/hammer/sear. I trying to resist the urge to send it out for sights and a barrel or accuracy work.

Hi there Steve C.,
I know exactly where you are coming from! I am up to four right now and I shoot them more often than any of my other full size handguns!
After 25 years of collecting and shooting other handguns, I don't know why it took me so long to discover that I shoot them the best! The ergonomics just plain work for me and with the evolution of the 9mm cartridge to its present form--it is one of the most effective handguns I own.

Been awhile but got back to the Browning Hp. In my youthfull gunshow days in the late 60,s the 1911 was it and the 45acp cal. But now with guns like the Mk-3 that feed good hollowpoint ammo like the ww 127gr.+P+ I have faith in the 9mm. I allways liked John Brownings designs and the looks and feel of them. Back when I was new to handguns the Hollow point ammo did not feed good in the T-series and Nazi I used to have. And the ammo was new and not designed good and never opened or blew the jacket off,but today the ammo is pretty darn good stuff. You have a nice pair of HP,s!

Nice HP's Steve C. I love 1911's but a HP has CLASS! I only have one, it always works and if I miss my target it is my fault.
