Considering do a few cosmetic modifications to S-80 Colt Gold Cup Trophy. Gun is blued but thinking about adding SS bushing, extended slide stop, extended safety and hex grip screws. I think this would make for a nice contrast. Anyone have photo of one they have done something similar on? Who would you recommend for parts. How much gunsmithing required (all I have are basic skills)?

I won't argue with anything else but the extended slide stop. Why do you want that?

The safety will need some basic mechanical knowledge, but it affects the safety of your pistol (and those around it). The bushing may require some special tools to fit it properly, so I would say, leave these to a gunsmith.

John, your right I think my brain wasn't fully engaged...I meant SS not extended.

Ahh, the old, nice looking blue gun with stainless controls!

I took mine to the edge some years ago. Blue gun with stainless steel bushing, checkered slide stop, checkered magazine release, trigger (well, aluminum, but the looks is the same), thumb safety, beavertail and hammer. It was like that until some time ago. Now, I switched it to a stealth black look, the only shinny thing on it, when I am finished with it, will be the barrel. Still waiting for some parts though.
