I'm familiar with M1911s (I own a USGI Colt M1911) but I'm not familiar with Springfields.
I spotted a Springfield M1911 A1 on a list for an estate sale. The SN listed is "NM 62XXX".
What type of Springfield is this? Is it a GI gun built by the Army's Springfield Armory, or is it one made by the civilian Sprinfield Armory company? Does the NM serial number mean it is a National Match pistol?
What's the approximate value of such a piece (they're listing it for $350, and that seems like a decent deal, depending on what it is).
Thanks.
