Any reason not to get one at $825.00?
I don't know anything about them...don't want to get stung if they're a risk.
TIA

Nice pics, and nice piece.
Is that a pre-CZ? The one I bought has the internal extractor and front strap checkering...

Yep.... external extractor without the checkering.

Internal extractor without front strap checkering would have been my ideal design...oh well...you take what you can get in production pieces...

As I understand, that is how they are now going to be made. They had complaints about the checkering being "too course" for comfort. That is why I got one without it. I've never had a problem with the external extractor on my other DW's so that was not an issue for me.
Take care,

Not a question of reliability with an external extractor...simply personal preference...

Picked up my DW Bobtail today...I'm very pleased...can't wait to shoot it. It's a CZ with the internal extractor and front strap checkering.
One unusual thing though...the slide stop will not fully engage with a Wilson 47D magazine when racking the slide...
Anyone else run into this? All the other types of magazines I have work just fine...

Is your new bobtail a 45 or 10mm? How long did you have it on order? I am curious because I have had a 10mm bobtail on order for what seems like an eternity (to me at least). I just can't wait to get one in my hands.
Thanks

Mine's a .45...and it's really put together quite well. This DW was a pleasant surprise, as I bought it NIB thru the internet...sight unseen...

Having never seen one before, much less handle one, I really didn't know what to expect, frankly...
I am well pleased with the quality of the build, and the accuracy is nothing short of outstanding, despite having a cracked barrel bushing right out of the box. It functioned perfectly, and is a real joy to shoot. Much better looking than the picture might indicate.
Just thought I'd share...

Now...if my Nighthawk Custom Talon would just hurry up and get here...

I agree varoadking! It tops kimber on smooth slide action right out of the box. Well balanced and great looking too!!

I am about to buy one, but what is the deal with the cracked bushing? and in the review here on this site, the reviewer had a split in half broken mag release.
what's up with that. I agree with Doubletap, the slide fit is excellent, the ed brown parts beautiful, the one I looked at has the front checkered strap.

Bobtail report: took it out for the first time today, there was 4 of us, and one of my friends had discouraged me from getting it at first, saying that he thought DWs were a lesser brand of guns. Well first mag. at 7-8 yards to check accuracy and they all came in a 1.5 in group, shot the second mag, same. I offered it to my friend next who shot a mag, and wanted to shoot it again, looked it over and said it looks like real high quality, well put together. My wife took it next, she kept shooting, looking at her target and turning her head with a big smile then she said reload it again for me .......
and took it away.........watch out Kimber(I have 2 match rade),smith and others, DW is working hard and using top of the line parts......the gun was flawless out of the box. The full size DW should be just as good, but the bobtail is a beauty.
