I threw in some new pins and a commander bobbed hammer in my 1911. Now the safety sticks a little. The safety still works, but it doesn't "snap" into safe anymore.

The new hammer is letting the sear reset at a different position, and the lug that blocks the sear is making harder contact. Light relieving on the blocking lug and/or the sear pad will correct it.
L-I-G-H-T...with a stone. Too much and the safety won't block the sear's movement. If your hammer has shortened hooks...it won't take much sear rotation to drop the hammer. Assemble the
gun without the grip safety to see the area that needs attention.

To check for the condition, pull the hammer a little past full cock and engage the safety. It'll feel more like it should. Then watch the hammer drop slightly when you disengage the safety.

You're absolutely right. I pulled the hammer back and the safety snapped right up. Can you please describe the surfaces I need to adjust? I'm a little new at all the terminology. Illustrations would be even better.
