My Father in law bought a used norinco. I detail stripped and cleaned the gun. After cleaning i did some funtional test (not live) if all safeties are working and found out that the slide stop could not held open by using empty mag and manually retracted back the slide. I tested all of my magazine and all failed to engaged the slide stop. I brought the gun in the range and did live test , the nork was working perfectly except of slide was not held open on the last round. When I went home, I field stripped the gun, inserted the slide stop on the frame, inserted empty mags and foud out the the lower lips of the magazine is just touching and slip ( no everlapping) the protruding metal of the slide stop( metal exposed inside the frame). I did some filling on the side of the slide stop that touches outside of the frame to expose more metal inside the frame that touches the lips of the magazine. After some filling and testing, all of my mag positively engages the slide stop and the slide was held open whent I rectracted back the slide. Not yet tested on live firing. My question is am I doing it right, is there other right option to cure that problem.
