Has anyone gotten a Nighthawk with the Black Diamond Finish? If so how does it look and what do you think of it? I am thinking of ordering a Talon IV and prefer Black guns to Silver ones. It is my understanding the Black Diamond Finish is ad durable as Hard Chrome.

Any pics would be great.

Sorry Tom, I have no pictures since my gun is not ready yet, but I asked for hard chrome because for me, it is impossible to return the gun to NHC after two or three years to have it refinished, from holster wear. Craig had agreed on that hard chrome was the best solution at that moment. Then, later on, when they got the Black Diamond finish, he emailed me and said that if I do not mind black guns (black as opposed to stainless/chrome), he would suggest that, for long term wear resistance.

If you do order it, I would definitely like to see some pics here.

Getting something similar done at a different place, can't wait to see the result.

Well I did it. I ordered a Talon IV with the Black Diamond finish, single side safety, magwell, and a set of thin cocobolo grips. :p

Now the 8 to 10 week wait begins which will not really matter since I will not be able to go out and shoot for another three months.

-40 F in Barrow these days. :scared:

Just picked it up today. It has a virtually unscratchable finish... It is a work of art. It is my understanding that you can not order a pistol directly from Nighthawk with this finish. I may be wrong though...

Thank you Singlestack -- the pictures show the finish well. I've been curious and appreciate a chance to see this finish close up.

Very nice singlestack, another option to consider..... and I love options :D
BTW, how much longer to the build time did getting the Black Diamond finish add to the wait?

I bought it off the shelf at the Scottsdale Gun Club www.scottsdalegunclub.com (http://www.scottsdalegunclub.com/). It is my understanding that the only way to get one finished in Black Diamond is to order it through them. The main contact there for NHC is John Piscione john.piscione@scottsdalegungunclub.com.

Disclaimer: I am not an employee nor do I receive any money or store credits for referrals. I own a dozen NHC pistols and have purchased them all through John.

I agree with singlestack. I also shoot at SGC and bought my Talon there. They have a ton of Nighthawks in different configs. Probably have what you want. Last time I looked, they even had some hard chrome stuff. ;) If you dont want to wait for your pistol to be built, the selection is pretty good.

Not trying to advertise for them, but thought you would like to know.
