Anyone know if I can take my 3.5 daly and remove the top end and replace with someting longer and more accurate for days at the range?

Might be able to get a 4 1/4" on there but I am new to all of this so don't take my word for it. IIRC the 3.5 would have a smaller dustshield on the frame than the fullsize, so by trying to put a fullsize 5" on it there would be a gap between the dust shield and the longer slide.

The frame will be too short at the dust cover, at least for a 5" slide. The 4.5" ones may fit, I do not know for sure.

The 4.5" slides will fit on a standard 5" but not on a 3.5" Your frame has a shorter dust cover, so there would be a gap. You are prety much stuck with 3.5".... I am not sure, but you also might have other problems involved....

Hi Jadecorte,

What the guys said earlier are correct. A government slide may be too long for your officer's dustcover. The 4 inch or commander size slide may do the trick. However, please note that you will have to have it fitted properly to assure proper functionality. A wrong slide to frame fit may just damage your gun in the long run.

For comparison purposes, you may want to check out the set-up of the Colt model CCO. It works on an Officer's frame and a Commander slide and barrel.

Cheers!!
