If I send my TRP off for some repair work, will I get it back fairly promptly. Not to mention I'm fairly disappointed I'm having to send it off anyway. It is brand new and I'm already having problems with, what should be, a great gun. I do love it, but I'm mad that it is screwing up.

Blake Ch47: I, too, had problems with both of my new TRPs (one Armory Kote and one SS). I was VERY unhappy with the service from SA. My SS TRP would not seat some mags (a variey, including MetalForm and Wilson). They would not fit all the way into the mag well to seat and feed, then they could not be pulled out by hand (they were, in essence, stuck in the mag well). Sent it off to SA, took two weeks. Got a snoddy reply back with the weapon that they failed to see a problem and no repair was done. I immediately traded it in on a Kimber.
I have had two TRPs. They were a littel over a thousand dollars each. I had better luck with my older SA mil-Spec .45s. I believe, in some of my older threads, that Hakmoon also had (or knew of someone) that had problems with the SA TRP. I like my SA pistols, but apparantely the TRPs do not like me. For $1100.00 each, one would think they would perform since they are based on the FBI contract pistol (I believe that's correct).
Good luck and let us know what happens.

I, on the other hand, had just a fine time with the contact and turn-a-round from Springfied.
My SS TRP was shooting low, so I sent an email & got a next day response.
I called and was given a number for the warranty work.
It took 3 weeks to get it back, with the test target they used to verify it is fixed. Some may complain about 3 weeks, but it was fine with me.
I have been so busy that I haven't been to the range with it yet  but I am optomistic that it is indeed fixed b/c I have the target.
If not, I can always come and edit this post to add a few words to make it negative! LoL!!
Oh yea, they also replaced the allen screw in the magwell for no charge (I half-stripped it taking it off) even though I didn't ask them to --
Best of luck :)

I had a good experience with customer service. My Mil-spec was shooting low. They had it less than 3 weeks, and that was over Christmas and New Years. I received the target they used and a refund for what I paid to ship it to them.

I bought a new GI .45 just after Christmas. When I got it home, I noticed the front sight was slightly bent to the left. I called Springfield and they gave me an RMA number to return the slide with. I sent it in a couple of weeks ago and I am waiting for it to return.

I have had excellent experience with Springfield's customer support. My 1911A1 Loaded parkerized had a squib that wasn't noticed, thus the next round blew out the gun. I was shooting reputable ammo, but the ammo company (whom Springfield said was the cause) wouldn't take it because I didn't have samples from the rest of the box. Thus, after 2 months of wait, Springfield decided to send me a new Loaded model. I have had no problems, and don't really complain about the time seeing as how my problem was preventable on my side, so it's not really Springfield's problem to correct. My next gun will also be a Springfield (Probably an XD45ACP) based on service alone.

I too had some sticky mags, sent it back , it came back, and hasnt had a problem since, good turn around, 2 weeks, and shoots to poa, and will run all 8 rd and 7 rd mags. my 10 rd match mags will not work due to the mag well , but my milspec loves the 10's. I have 6 of them, back to back 10 rds at a time, 60 rds , fun fun fun .

My G.I had multiple problems. SA fixed them all. I had a 2.5 week turnaround.

I'm sending my nearly new (3 mos/900 rds.) micro compact back tomorrow with constant feed problems (any ammo) and shooting quite a bit low and to the left. This is the first pistol that I have ever had to send back to a factory to correct problems that I think should have been caught before they released the pistol. I bought Springfield based on their reputation for quality and reliability and at this point, I'm very disappointed. Hopefully they will return a reliable weapon to me or it will soon be up for sale.
