Can you put a long slide barrel into a mil spec?

Howdy Two Slow,

Yep...Assuming that there aren't any tolerance/spec issues and the lug engagement and fit of the lower lug and hood are good. You'll need a
gunsmith fit bushing though. The end of the mil-spec barrel is flared slightly
to fit the bushing ID closer, and the barrel diameter behind that is smaller.
The bushing will need to be relieved at the bottom front and top rear a little to keep the barrel from springing when it's in full lockup.

You'll also likely need to mount the new bazrrel in a barrel fixture and lathe turn the diameter down a little so that the barrel will tilt and fall to the frame bed. In short, it's not very likely that it'll be a drop-in swap, even if the barrel fits and locks correctly into the slide. Good news is that it's not a
difficult swap, even with all the incidentals, if you've got a lathe and understand how the barrel and bushing work when the gun is in battery.
It's not as complicated as it sounds, and probably wouldn't take more than an hour or so.

Hope this helps...Luck!

Thanks for the help, I was hoping for more of a drop in though.
