I need a replacement slide stop for my WWII Colt shooter which has been maintained with USGI parts. Until I can find a genuine USGI part, I'll go with an aftermarket replacement. My question is which one do I go with?

There is EGW, Ed Brown, Wilson, McCormick and a few others out there. Not having the knowledge and experience with aftermarket parts, does it really matter or are they all about the same? Thanks, AFH43

The best is the Wilson Bullet proof slide stop. You'll pay a bit more for it, but its quality. Its made from barstock steel.......not cast, or anything else inferior.

I've also used Browns hardcore slide stop..........they are my second choice. Most everything else is cast steel.......

Thanks for the advice wichaka!

You can never go wrong with quality. I have seen the Wilson listed on Brownells for $49.95 and Ed Browns Hardcore for $34.95.
