New Stainless Steel Target II

I just purchased a target II , does anyone have any info on this 1911 pistol.

I have a Stainless Steel Target II. I found this to be a very accurate .45. I also have a Gold Match, and can not tell which is the more accurate. I have had a problem with failure to extract with this SST. I have shot a thousand rounds thu this auto so I believe it is "broken in". I spoke with a tech. at Kimber just the other day, after explaining the problem he asked me to grasp the extractor and see if it "moved around" and it did. He suggested that the extractor might have to be restaked. In comparison with the Gold Match the extractor moved much more, also the spring tension was about half that of the Gold Match. I am awaiting on a call from the Kimber and will be sending it back to be repaired. Send me an e-mail in a couple of weeks and I'll let you know the results of the repair. By the way I really like this .45.

:) Kimber stainless target II , what can I say, its one of my favorite shooters. I had a little trble sighting in the adj's sights, but after that,straight and narrow like an arrow. sorry about the rhyme. Seriously though, put on a hogue grip, and got a few wilson mags, haven't had one hiccup on anything, reloads, wolf, wins, etc, . Happened to be in an area where Doug K. shoots. I asked him to shoot it and check it. All i heard was it, "its on", and to see him shoot it , seeing is believing. Kimber makes a nice tool....... I've got a few , the Ultra cdp II is my main carry piece, but for practice it really chews my hand up. good luck. PS, if you really get tired of it you can always have a good gunner make it run for the races..........

I got my SST II back from kimber the other day. Sent it on a Tuesday and got is back on Friday!! I works great, they adjusted the ejector and there are no more problems ejecting. I am real happy with the service. I have an 18.5 # Wilson recoil spring in it and use Wilson Mags. As I said before the SST shoots just as accuratly as my Gold Match. Enjoy your .45.

I just bought a STS Target II and cant wait to get out and try it out. The only things I will change are adding an extended slide stop and maybe the grips. I want to see if i can get a pair of the smooth wood ones that are on the boxed pair of pistols..the ones with the Kimber logo...those are sweet.
